Féile an Phobail is back this August with a bigger and better programme than ever and a particular emphasis on children and young people.

This year there is something for everyone, Conall McCorry, Youth Arts Project Worker at Féile, said.

“First off there’s the carnival parade and party in the park, they’re happening on Sunday August 7th,” said Conall.

“The parade will leave Conway Street at 1pm for the Falls Park where there will be plenty to do for everyone. We are still urging groups, streets, organisations and people to join us, so if you want to throw on your best costume and get involved, give us a shout at the office on 028 95 609 984

Conall added: “We’ve teamed up with Brassneck to bring you a youth summer scheme. The scheme is open to all ages and starts July 25th. The participants will partake in master classes in theatre and learn about aspects of physical theatre, acting for the screen and circus skills, it’s a good opportunity for local kids who want to get their foot in with Brassneck and it’s not that expensive either, just £30 for the week.

“There are many, many more events and projects you can get involved in from Minecraft Competitions to Pottery, all free to join. Just pick up a programme or log on to www.feile2016.com and have a look at what we have. This is certainly our most creative programme yet.”

Kevin Gamble, Director of Féile an Phobail, said: “2016 brings an exciting line-up, everything from street theatre, children’s events, parties in the park, concerts, sports, discussions, debates, exhibitions, dramas and readings in what is the largest community festival and summer school in Ireland.”
