BUILDING on the success of Lisburn’s Christmas shopping campaign, a first-of-its-kind discount shopping event will run in Lisburn City from December 6 to 8, involving more than 50 stores.
Over the three-day period the majority of shops taking part will also be open for late night shopping on Thursday 6th December and Friday 7th December. The ‘You Got It For Less’ discount shopping event is being promoted on television and radio.
The event has been designed to offer Christmas shoppers a range of unique discounts and the great value to be found in Lisburn’s family-friendly, city centre atmosphere. Over the three-day period participating stores will offer unique discounts to customers and ‘You Got It For Less’ point-of-sale material throughout the city centre will assist shoppers to find participating retailers and traders.
Participating shops include big-brand high street stores and top-quality independent retailers offering everything from high-end designer fashion to unique gifts for all the family at Christmas.
Alderman Jim Dillon, Chairman of Lisburn City Council’s Economic Development Committee, said: “The Council and Lisburn City Centre Management have worked imaginatively to continually attract shoppers and visitors into the City Centre and the “‘You Got It For Less’ campaign is no exception. We hope the three-day period will be a festive success for shoppers hoping to snap up a bargain and for traders to increase sales.”
Alderman Allan Ewart, Chairman of Lisburn City Centre Management, said: “Lisburn is the second largest city in Northern Ireland with a strong history of independent retailing and this Christmas, with over 50 stores taking part, traders in Lisburn City Centre have shown overwhelming support for the campaign. This, along with a string of festive events in Lisburn City Centre, is set to make Lisburn the place to be this Christmas.”
With the increase in footfall in and around the city centre, it is also hoped that both locals and visitors will take the time to enjoy some of the great festive events on in Lisburn that include the Christmas Market, Santa’s Grotto at the Irish Linen Centre and the Belfast Gospel Choir at Lisburn Cathedral.
