Albion Star’s opponents Rosario were a very energetic and well-disciplined team.

Albion, who had almost a full squad for the game, went into the game in high spirits following a great performance last week.

The game was full of goals and a lot of great individual skill.

Both teams were brilliant but Albion Star came out on top. Ciaran McNally was clinical in front of goal while Mani McKay-Douglas produced some excellent tackles. Kain Magennis passed the ball brilliantly but the whole Albion Star team can be proud of their performance.

Albion Star 2003s v Shankill Juniors

Albion Star welcomed Shankill Juniors to Shaftesbury Recreation Centre, which has become a fortress for them recently.

The game started off very well with a great finish from Jordan McGrattan. Albion Star’s second goal was finished off smartly by Seamus Duffy before Kain McConkey extended their lead with a fine finish.

Seamus Duffy doubled his tally with a great finish before Shankill Juniors pulled a goal back.

In the final five minutes Albion Star’s wheels looked to have fallen off when Shankill Juniors pulled another two goals back after two mistakes.

However, Star held on to win this entertaining encounter.

Albion Star 2002s v Cliftonville Reds

Albion Star welcomed a strong Cliftonville Reds side to Shaftesbury Rec.

It was a cagey start from both teams but Star took the lead when Jack Flynn’s cross was turned into the Cliftonville goal for an own goal.

Shortly after the break Albion Star’s lead was cut short when Connor McCarthy, in the Albion goal, was left with no chance. Shortly after Albion Star restored their lead from a corner when Michael Steele scrambled the ball over the line after confusion in the Cliftonville back line. After the break Albion Star extended their lead with a neat finish  from Luca Morelli to ease their nerves.

Cliftonville responded to make it an anxious last few minutes for Albion Star but they managed to hold on for the win.
