THE COLIN Neighbourhood Partnership is hoping to recruit more volunteer befrienders to support older people living in their homes in the Colin community.

Gemma Burns, Volunteer Development Worker, for the Colin Neighbourhood Partnership Live and Learn project, said she would like to encourage adults aged 18 and over to volunteer.

“Volunteering has many personal and social benefits for individuals, such as making new friends, learning new skills and feeling good that you play an important role in supporting others within your community.

“Have you said recently ‘I would like to give something back or I would love to be able to help someone or just do more in my local community?’ Then volunteering may be for you.

Befriending

“Lots more volunteers are needed to meet the demand for the befriending service in the Colin area and CNP and Bryson Charitable Group are offering the opportunity for potential volunteers to join their team.

“You can make a difference by volunteering for as little as one or two hours per week and you can volunteer as a couple, with a friend or on your own. Any help is welcomed.”
