This year we will see four sporting organisations battling it out for the 2026 Aisling Award for Sporting Excellence.

The four nominees come from a wide range of sporting backgrounds after a terrific calendar year on the sporting front.

All four are hoping to follow in the footsteps of last year's winner, St Mary's CBGS.

First up, we have the newest edition to Antrim GAA royalty, with St Brigid's GAC of South Belfast who enjoyed a terrific Antrim GAA campaign culminating in their name being etched as Antrim Senior Football Champions for the first time in their history.

Following that we see Crumlin Star, with the amateur football club clinching back-to-back Intermediate Cup titles at Windsor Park earlier in the calendar year and announcing the departure of their long serving head coach Paul Trainor after the celebrations.

Next up we have the newest young and up-and-comers in the boxing world, with Jamie Graham at just 18-years-old signing a pro-contract and earning a flawless start to his career overcoming Argentinian Jose Exequiel Sanchez in his debut, before dispatching English veteran Mark Butler in his second bout.

And last but certainly not least, the fundraising duo of Shay McGinley and Ger McFadden who have raised almost £23k in aid of Children with Cancer with their Cork to Cushendun run across the island in 15 days amongst other terrific events though their journey.

This year's award is once again sponsored by long-term partners Sean Graham bookmakers.

Brian Graham, from sponsors Sean Graham said: “Sean Graham are delighted to be involved with the 2026 Aisling Awards.

"We are very proud to have supported this event for almost 30 years and have seen some wonderful winners of the Sports Award during that time.

"We are looking forward to this year’s event and are sure that it will be another fabulous evening.”

This year's winner will be crowned at the Aisling Awards, which take place at the Europa Hotel on Friday, November 27.
