A VISION of South Belfast seen through the eyes of both migrants and the local host community is to be released in a new booklet published by the Inclusive Neighbourhood Project (INP).

‘Bout Ye – Welcome to Our Wee Town’ will be launched at the INP Showcase Event on November 29 in Belfast City Hall. Put together with the help of local organisations including the Mornington Women’s Group, Corrymeela, Crescent Arts Centre, and An Droichead, the booklet features visual representations of the city with insightful visual information for newcomers.

Supported by the Peace III programme, it was put together through a series of workshops organised by the community groups, and features photography from renowned artist Norma Burrows who helped explore the various neighbourhoods involved.

Ann Marie White of Corrymeela said: “It’s been great working in partnership with the Crescent Arts Centre on this joint initiative with INP participants from both the host and refugee community. It’s been a really creative process and amazing to see different neighbourhoods come alive through other people’s eyes – a really enlightening process and great fun watching the creativity unfold. We are really looking forward to launching the book.”
