The Ulster Museum has welcomed several large new arrivals including a terrifying Tarbosaurus, as part of a new dinosaur exhibition.
The seven metre long monster animatronic lizard will take centre stage in the Age of Dinosaur show, and has been installed by a team of experts from London’s world-famous Natural History Museum, which has loaned the robot to Belfast.
The Tarbosaurus will join six other animatronic dinosaurs, along with artefacts including real dino fossils, skulls and eggs.
Curator of Palaeontology at the Museum, Dr Mike Simms said: “This exhibition is an amazing sensory experience and will transport visitors back to the days of the dinosaurs to discover more about these fascinating creatures and their diverse environments.
The Natural History Museum’s Jan English added: “We have a skilled team of technicians, engineers and artists working throughout the installation of the exhibition of the partnership with Natural Museum NI. We’re delighted to have the opportunity to work with the team from the Ulster Museum in preparing such an exciting exhibition for display to the public.”
