A WEST Belfast hip-hop dance school is celebrating after unprecedented success at the recent World Championships.
Moco Collective is a dance school based in Blackstaff Mill on the Springfield Road that offers inclusivity, acceptance and classes while striving to develop and provide opportunities for the community through dance education, activities and events.
After a year of hard work, they group attended their first World Championships, which were held in Manchester in August and came away with stunning results.
Speaking to the Andersonstown News, Micheal O'Coigligh said he could not be more proud of the kids.
"Last year, we went to the super weekend in Birmingham. We saw the benefits of going over there and being immersed in that type of environment. The skills that the kids learnt was vital," he explained.
"We automatically qualified for the Soar World Championships in Manchester.
"They exceeded our expectations. It was our first World Championships and we didn't know what to expect.
"We came in the top three in every category. It is unbelievable.
"It is hard to put into words what it means. We are so invested in these kids and see them nearly every day. We have watched their growth. We put everything into them.
"I had goosebumps for the whole weekend in Manchester.
"I am just so proud of them all. We are preparing now for the All-Ireland Championships in a few weeks."
