Aodhán Ó Baoill is a journalist originally from Portstewart in County Derry, but now living in Belfast. He was raised beside the sea and learned his Irish in Queen’s University and at Coláiste Bhríde, Rann na Feirste.
He is interested in current affairs, sport and politics, and in anything to do with Irish, of course. He spent some time working in the Irish-language television sector and has written for several online and offline Irish language publications. He is often heard on Raidió Fáilte, Blas, and RTÉ Raidió na Gaeltachta.

BREANDÁN Mac Cionnaith from the Garvaghy Road Residents’ Coalition has called on the British government to ban the Drumcree Orange Order parade ‘once and for all’. In an exclusive interview with the Andersonstown News this evening, Mr Mac Cionnaith said residents who were children in the 1990s during the last parading crisis have their own children now and don’t want them to experience what they went through. Speaking about the difference between the 1990s and now, he said: “Probably the major change in almost 30 years is the confidence that our community has now locally. There was a time when you go back to the 1980s and 1990s this community was small, it was isolated.
A resident in the Garvaghy Road area has said that the community there will be "forever indebted" to those from Belfast and further afield who have come to the road to show support in recent days.
