A COUNCILLOR is pushing for a date for road improvement works in Lagmore to be confirmed.

Joe Duffy says ongoing road improvement works at Lagmore View Road and Lagmore View Lane have been subject to delays and is urging patience from local residents.

"As residents will be aware substantial works have already been undertaken as part of the wider improvement scheme," he explained. "However, a number of concerns remain regarding the traffic-calming measures, resurfacing, road markings and outstanding remedial works.

"I have raised these issues directly with Antrim Construction and, following further correspondence from residents and myself, have now received an update regarding the outstanding works at Lagmore View Lane.

"Antrim Construction has confirmed that remedial works remain outstanding and that the area has been inspected with representatives from DfI Roads and Breedon, who have been engaged to carry out the agreed works.

"They have also confirmed that a parking bay at the bottom of Lagmore View Lane remains to be completed. This has been delayed pending the relocation of a street-lighting column. Once this issue is resolved, the intention is for the remaining works to be programmed together to minimise further disruption.

"While I welcome confirmation that these issues are to be addressed, a firm date for the outstanding works has not yet been provided. I am continuing to push for a clear programme and timescale for completion, as well as clarification on the outstanding concerns regarding the traffic-calming measures and road finishes on Lagmore View Road.

"I appreciate residents’ continued patience and understand the frustration caused by these delays. I will provide a further update as soon as a confirmed date for the remaining works is received.

"Should you have any further concerns regarding the road works, please do not hesitate to contact me."
