As Heritage Manager with the James Connolly Visitor Centre and Fáilte Feirste Thiar, Eimear Hargey is responsible for the promotion and strategic development of West Belfast heritage, helping showcase the area’s rich history, culture, and strong community spirit to both local and international audiences. She plays a leading role in developing initiatives that celebrate West Belfast’s unique identity and historical significance. Within the James Connolly Centre, she coordinates and delivers educational programmes focused on the life, legacy, and politics of James Connolly, ensuring the next generation are introduced to Connolly’s ideas and vision while encouraging greater understanding of Irish history and workers rights and community activism.
