Your First Job: Bar maid
What it taught you? People skills and work ethic
What do you think are the key ingredients needed to make a person or organisation the Best of the West? My first job as a barmaid nearly 20 years ago taught me how to deal with all sorts of people to listen, stay calm under pressure, and always keep a sense of humour. It gave me confidence and thick skin! It also taught me the value of hard work and long hours and that no matter how tired you are, someone always wants a pint with a smile
To me, the key ingredients that make someone or an organisation the Best of the West are heart, hard work, and honesty. It's about showing up for your community, standing by your values, and making a real difference no matter how big or small. West Belfast is full of people who go the extra mile for others, and I think the best of us do it with pride, passion, and without ever looking for credit.
