Opened ten years ago in Castle Street, Old Oven Door is a sister shop of the hugely popular Antrim Road bakery which scooped ‘Best Bakery’ three years in a row in Best of the North. The family-run business in Castle Street offers a sit-in area for customers to eat-in and enjoy anything from fries to soups and stews. Manageress Karen Burns says everyone is “over the moon” to be shortlisted for the first time in the Best of the West awards. “Our staff go over and above to give the customer what they want,” she said. “They have that personal touch with all our customers, who come from all walks of life, being located in Belfast city centre. “We pride ourselves on the fact absolutely everything is homemade. “We are over the moon to be shortlisted. It is great to get a bit of recognition for the job that we are doing.”
