TWO males have been arrested after a suspected stolen motorcycle was stopped in West Belfast on Wednesday night.

At around 10:30pm it was reported a motorcycle, believed to have been stolen, was being driven by a male without a helmet on the Whiterock Road.

Police attended as a number of males pushed the motorcycle down an alleyway at the Bleach Green Terrace area.

Officers apprehended two males, who made off on foot from the area.

The males, aged 17 and 20-years-old were arrested on suspicion of theft of a vehicle, driving whilst disqualified and driving with no insurance. Both males remain in police custody at this time.

Inspector Sorcha Irwin said: “These arrests and the recovery of the motorbike by police are another example of our proactive approach to tackling anti-social behaviour and criminality across West Belfast. Our officers will continue to disrupt this time of activity and arrest those involved.
