A WEST Belfast mum-of-two has been issued with a notice to leave her rented property in Beechmount due to ongoing mould and damp issues.

Brittany Taylor has been living in her Northern Property rented house in Locan Street for the past four years.

She says the property has been plagued with with mould and damp issues which are now so bad that she  has to move out of her home by the end of the month for repairs to take place.

Speaking to the Andersonstown News, Brittany said: "Mould and damp has been ongoing since I moved in four years ago. It is all over the house.

"In May I noticed a small hole in my roof and reported it. Then a contractor came out and told me it was worse than I thought and a new roof was needed.

"This was then reported multiple times to my landlord as it is a single let property.

"I have now been waiting three months for this to be repaired and mould and damp treated.

"I have now been told I have to leave here at the end of the month because there is so much work that needs done and they can’t do it when I am in the property.

"I have two young kids who were back to school last week. My son has special educational needs and needs routine. This should have been sorted before now."

The Andersonstown News contacted Northern Property for a response but none was issued at the time of going to print.
