A MAN has been arrested after a quantity of drugs valued at £1,000 was found in his possession.
Shortly after 11:20am on Tuesday, police said they observed a man acting suspiciously in the Ross Road area.
A search was conducted by officers under the Misuse of Drugs Act and a large quantity of suspected Pregablin tablets and Zopiclone tablets, with an estimated street value of £1,000 ,were seized.
A 35-year-old man was arrested on suspicious of various drugs related offences and was released on police bail to allow for further enquiries.
Chief Inspector Kelly Gibson said: “We will continue to carry out targeted patrols in the area and are committed to addressing illegal drug use and supply. Anyone who is suspected of involvement in the supply of illegal drugs can expect to be arrested by police and presented before the courts.
