THE victim of a horrific knife attack in North Belfast in June is set to leave hospital to begin rehabilitation, his family have said.

Stephen Ogilvie was seriously injured in a knife attack on Kinniard Avenue.

The incident sparked a number of days of disorder across Belfast.

Hadi Alodid (30) has been charged with attempted murder. He has also been charged with possession of a knife in a public place, and with threatening to kill an NHS radiographer.

Posting an update on Tuesday on a GoFundMe page for Stephen, his father said: "We are waiting for Stephen to be discharged from hospital and go to rehab, hopefully this will be within the next week or so.

"Again I would like to thank you all for for all the support and kindness that you have shown us all as a family. I will keep you all updated when Stephen gets moved.

"This is where all the hard work starts and with all the support and love sent has really lifted him up."
