Police in North Belfast discovered a suspected cannabis factory at a house on the Serpentine Road this week. The search was carried out on Tuesday afternoon (March 20) and approximately 50 cannabis plants were seized. During the policing operation a quantity of suspected cocaine was discovered at another property in the area. A number of items were seized from both premises.

A PSNI spokesman said a 37 year old male was arrested and released on bail pending further enquiries.

“Police are committed to working with the local community to remove drugs from circulation,” he said. “A number of 'Drug Drop Safes' have been introduced to community venues, within the North Belfast area. These safes can be used to anonymously dispose of drugs or harmful substances.”
