TRIBUTES have been paid to a West Belfast man described as a "true community champion" for the Colin area.
Eddie Mulligan, originally from Riverdale before moving to Lagmore, founded Glendowan Football Club in 2002.
He was a well-known figure in the Colin community through his day job as a window cleaner.
In a statement Glendowan FC said: "With heavy hearts, we announce the sad passing of Eddie Mulligan.
"In 2002 Eddie joined Glendowan with his brother in-law David and friend Terry and transformed our club in to what it is today, helping thousands of young aspiring footballers along the way.
"He will be forever loved, forever missed and never forgotten. RIP Eddie."
Sinn Féin MLA Danny Baker described Eddie as "a giant of our community".
"He was a man who shaped the lives of so many young people, including my own. His dedication to our community will never be forgotten. My thoughts are with his family, friends and Glendowan family.
"Eddie you will be missed dearly, rest in peace."
West Wellbeing posted: "It is with great sadness that we learned of the passing of Eddie Mulligan, founder of Glendowan Football Club and a true community champion for the Colin area.
"For 24 years, Eddie dedicated his time, energy and passion to his club, creating opportunities for young people and helping build a stronger, more connected community through football.
"His contribution went far beyond the football pitch. Eddie was someone who believed in his community and gave so much of himself to the people around him. His commitment, kindness and determination will be remembered by the many lives he touched over the years.
"At West Wellbeing, we extend our heartfelt condolences to Eddie’s family, friends, everyone at Glendowan and the wider Colin community at this very difficult time.
"Thank you, Eddie, for 24 years of service, dedication and community spirit. Your legacy will live on through the club and the community you cared so deeply about.

In his funeral notice, Eddie is described as the loving husband of Martine, a loving daddy to Michael, Kirstie and Lucy, much loved Granda to Mark, Charley, Darragh and Robyn, adored brother, nephew, uncle, cousin and friend of many.
Eddie will leave on Thursday 17th September at 6.30pm for a service in Christ the Redeemer at 7pm, followed by a service at Roselawn Crematorium on Friday 18th September at 8.40am. Family flowers only but if desired donations in lieu may be sent to Macmillan Nurses (Direct).
