Colleen Ligget has been working as a care worker at Colinvale Court, a purpose built EMI (Elderly Mentally Infirm) Home for four years. Colinvale was opened in 1995 and has 50 single bedrooms, 45 of which are located on the ground floor.  Colleen is one of a a devoted group of staff members who are qualified and familiar with the issues associated with patients who have been diagnosed with dementia. Speaking after finding out that she had been shortlisted, Colleen said that she loves coming to work to see the residents. “When I found out that I had been shortlisted I couldn’t believe it. I actually felt a bit sick but now I am looking forward to celebrating with everyone else at the awards,” she said.
