Best Careworker

Patricia Brown is events organiser at Brooklands Care Home and is instrumental in ensuring the facility is a fantastic place for residents to live.  From organising themed holiday events and creating partnerships with the wider community – including local youth organisations – her tireless efforts mean that residents enjoy life to the fullest. During the Covid-19 pandemic, she was amongst the brave members of staff who volunteered to take up residence and isolate with residents in the care home to protect them from the virus.  Though recognised by many as the public face of Brooklands, Patricia has diligently campaigned in the background for colleagues who have taken the Best of the West prize in this category. This year, she has been nominated by families with loved ones in the home, recognising her sterling efforts in the 21 years she has served in the care home.
