First job: St Michael’s Nursery School.

What it taught me: Working in St Michael’s taught me so much. Through the staff and guidance I received it taught me more about the importance of a holistic development of the child. It most definitely reinforced my love for working with children and in particular those children with special educational needs. It taught me how to contribute to a positive team environment and I’m very grateful for all I learned while there.

Family/status: Single.

Best advice anyone ever gave you: ‘What’s for you won’t pass you.’ (My nanny’s advice.)

Best advice you could give someone thinking of a teaching career: Never give up on following your dreams, no matter what the obstacles are, keep going if it’s what you truly want.

I’m a very normal girl who loves the simple things in life, my family and friends mean the absolute world to me. I have three nephews and one niece who are amazing! I’ve always known I wanted to work with children in some way or setting, leading to my further education in Belfast Met and then Stranmills University. This provided me with some very fortunate opportunities in several schools that have helped me along the way to get to where I am now, which I am very grateful for. I have had the chance to help some amazing young children and learn from them. Further to this, I have had the privilege to work alongside some amazing people and hope that my path on this journey continues.
