Family/Status:  Partner and two sons.

Best advice you would give to someone thinking of a teaching career:  Never lose sight of who you are and when it gets tough always remember why you first wanted to become a teacher.

Jennifer knew that being a mature student would never be plain sailing but she didn't anticipate the many obstacles she would face on her journey to become a teacher. Having her second son during her first year of university meant she had to defer her course for a year, but she was determined that she was going to continue with her studies. Then Covid hit and she was resigned to remote learning at home during her third year at university with her children and partner while also working evenings and weekends as a care assistant.

Jennifer's desire and determination to become a teacher enabled her to push through these hurdles and fulfil her dream. Having such supportive family and friends was a blessing as they never let her give up on her dreams and instead reminded her of why she wanted to become a teacher when she found it tough. Jennifer treats each and everyone of her pupils as she would want her own sons to be treated and she believes that every single child is capable of achieving their dreams with the right care, nurture, support and encouragement.
