A NEW mural has been unveiled at Madden's Bar in Belfast of renowned Irish singer and musician Clare Sands.

Clare is a sixth generation fiddle player and bilingual singer from Cork with family connections to Wexford and County Down.

Her music is deeply connected to where folklore, language, and activism meet melody, embodying a fearless warrior-like spirit that inspires and unites audiences around the world.

Clare is set to release her new album, 'They Tried to Bury Us' with all songs having a deep connection to the North of Ireland. The album was written across Ulster with an incredible array of musicians based in the north, alongside producer Seán Óg Graham.

Ahead of the official launch later this month, Madden's Bar will host a soft launch on Friday evening. Tickets are available here. A mural of Clare has been completed on the outside back wall of the bar, featuring the famous resilience metaphor 'They Tried to Bury Us; They Did Not Know We Were Seeds.'

All proceeds from raffle tickets this evening will go to Madden's Bursary Scheme to help young people learn traditional music and the Irish language.

Brian McMullan, owner of Madden's Bar, said: "It is great to have another Irish artist on the wall. It has been fantastic working with Clare who is well-renowned the world over.

"We are delighted to host Clare at Maddens and all money raised will go towards our bursary scheme."

'They Tried to Bury Us', the new album by Clare Sands will be officially launched in Belfast at Empire Music Hall on Sunday, October 18.
