A POPULAR cafe in West Belfast has thanked its customers for 18 "unforgettable years" after announcing its closure.
Mona's Cafe, located at Colin Glen Forest Park, has been a popular breakfast and lunch spot over recent years and has announced that last Sunday would be its last day of service.
In a social media post the team at Mona's said: "To our wonderful community, regulars, and friends. With a heavy heart – and a cup full of bittersweet gratitude – we are sharing the news that Mona’s Cafe will be closing its doors for the last time today.
"When we first opened over 18 years ago, the area looked quite a bit different than it does today. The neighbourhood has grown, shifted, and evolved around us in so many ways over the nearly two decades, but through every change, this little space remained a constant anchor and a home away from home.
"Over the years, these walls have witnessed countless morning catch-ups, quiet coffee breaks, local gatherings, and shared milestones.
"It has become a place rich with happy memories, not just for so many of you who made us part of your daily routine, but deeply and personally for myself and our team. Being part of your lives, watching families grow, and sharing in your daily moments has been the privilege of a lifetime.
"To every customer who ever walked through our doors, pulled up a chair, or offered a friendly smile across the counter, thank you. You transformed what started as a simple dream into a true community, and we could never have made it this far without your continuous warmth and support.
"We will be serving our last orders today, and we would love nothing more than to see as many familiar faces as possible to share one last coffee and say a proper goodbye.
"Thank you for many unforgettable years."
