A PUBLIC meeting is to take place in North Belfast on Thursday focusing on the future of the pro-life movement in Ireland.
Organised by Aontú, it will take place at the Lansdowne Hotel on the Antrim Road, at 7.30pm.
The meeting will feature speakers including Aontú leader Peadar Tóibín TD, Bernadette Smyth of Precious Life, Liam Gibson, SPUC Policy and Legal Officer, and Aiden Carlin, Aontú’s representative for the Castle DEA and North Belfast.
Speaking ahead of the event, Aontú North Belfast representative Aiden Carlin said the public meeting is an opportunity for people to come together and hear from "experienced advocates".
"The Right to Life is one of Aontú’s founding principles alongside Irish unity and economic justice," he added.
"We have an agenda for change in North Belfast. The Stormont parties have failed local people on housing, healthcare, the cost of living and infrastructure.
"Aontú has received a surge in membership in the last few weeks. We are canvassing regularly in North Belfast and beyond, and we are hearing on the doors the frustration of local people who are paying high rates but receiving low-rate public services."
