A WEST Belfast girl has scooped a prestigious beauty pageant title following a hugely successful year.
Lucia Dougan (7) was crowned Mini Miss North of Ireland 2026 in March and last weekend was crowned Mini Miss Diamond European Union.
Speaking to the Andersonstown News, mum Roisian said she was "incredibly proud" of her daughter.
"I am so proud of her. When she started beauty pageants she was a very quiet girl and now she is a different child," she explained.
"People think it is all about beauty but it's not. It is all about your confidence and how well you present yourself. It has learnt her so much.
"To win Mini Miss Diamond European Union is just amazing. I still can't quite believe it.
"Lucia be going to Las Vegas next July to compete which will be an amazing experience."
