CORRIGAN PARK is the venue of one of, if not the biggest, hurling clashes that Ireland's second city is set to witness when reigning champions St John's host their bitter rivals Rossa in the Senior Hurling Championship opener this evening.
Both sides met in last season's quarter-final clash, with a dramatic finish unfolding at Hightown when Rossa relinquished a three-point lead in injury time, when a goal from Michael Bradley and a last-gasp point from Ryan McNulty earned the Johnnies a semi-final berth and proved to be the eventual catalyst in winning their first Volunteer Cup in over 52 years.
An historic season ended with the Johnnies crowned Antrim kings, and no doubt we are in for a blockbuster event this evening.
