A MAN has been charged after a quantity of suspected Class A and Class C controlled drugs have been seized in North Belfast.
Shortly before 4:50am on Monday morning, it was reported that a red Skoda Fabia was being driven suspiciously at the lower area of the Shankill Road and then came to a stop at the Antrim Road.
A search of the vehicle was conducted under the Misuse of Drugs Act and a quantity of suspected Class A and Class C controlled drugs were seized.
A subsequent search of a house in the North Belfast area resulted in a quantity of suspected Class A and Class C Controlled drugs, drugs paraphernalia and other items were seized.
A 28 year-old man was arrested and has since been charged with two counts of possession of Class A controlled drug, one count of possession of a Class B controlled drug and possession of a Class C controlled drug.
He is due to appear at Belfast Magistrates Court on Monday, October 19.
A 33 year-old male also arrested as part of the investigation and received a Community Resolution Notice.
Inspector Hamilton said: “This is another example of the work carried out by officers in North Belfast, who continue to listen to concerns from the local community and keep people safe from criminal activity.”
