THE countdown to St Patrick's Day 2027 is well and truly on with the launch of the annual SPAR Craic10k.
Since launching in 2015, the SPAR Craic10k has grown into a key fixture in the road racing calendar. Starting at Belfast City Hall and finishing in the vibrant atmosphere of Ormeau Park, it has become a much-loved St Patrick’s Day tradition.
Following a successful partnership in 2026, the event will once again support Cancer Fund for Children in 2027. £1 from every race registration will be donated directly to support the vital work they do for children and young people impacted by cancer.
In 2026 an amazing total of £11,816 was donated to Cancer Fund for Children.
While the event is famous for its sea of green t-shirts, wigs and tutus, organisers remain committed to making the SPAR Craic10k Ireland’s greenest urban run. Sustainability continues to be at the heart of our planning, with a focus on reducing waste, eliminating unnecessary plastics and using recyclable and environmentally friendly materials wherever possible.
Following their successful introduction, our unique wooden finisher medals return in 2027, providing runners with a memorable and sustainable keepsake of their achievement.
We have also continued our commitment to reducing unnecessary waste by removing disposable branded giveaways. As in previous years, every registered participant will receive their chipped race bib by post, helping to eliminate thousands of journeys associated with race pack collection.
We appreciate that some changes take time to adapt to, but with your support we will continue to grow the SPAR Craic10k as both Belfast’s greatest run and Ireland’s greenest.
So lace up your running shoes, join the crowd and experience the energy, colour and atmosphere of Belfast on St Patrick’s Day 2027. With a céad míle fáilte, we invite you to come along for the Craic.
As in previous years, we expect the SPAR Craic10k to sell out before the early bird registration period ends – 1,000 people have already registered in the first week!
Early entry is strongly recommended to avoid disappointment.
Participants must be aged 15 years or older on race day. Entrants under the age of 15 are not permitted to take part.
2027 Entry Fees:
- Super Early Bird: £22.00 / £180 Team of ten- ends midnight 3rd January 2027
- Early Bird: £25.00 / £220 Team of ten- ends midnight 31st January 2027
- Regular/Late Entry: £30.00 / £270 Team of ten
Requests for deferrals will be accepted up until January 31.
After this date, participants may transfer their place to another runner through our official name change process.
