Best advice you could give someone thinking of a teaching career: The curriculum is important, but your pupils are more important so build strong relationships!
Growing up I never imagined being a primary school teacher and now I could never imagine being anything else! I love my job, our staff and children are amazing - we are like one big family! I find that it is privilege to work with the children in same area where I grew up! I have been working at Springfield PS for over 15 years during that time I was SENCo for over 10 years but now I focus on Mental Health and Wellbeing as well as PE and sport.
I am a member of Living Hope church and In my spare time I play board games, hill walk and go to the gym. I love martial arts and have a blackbelt in kickboxing and a greenbelt in Brazilian Jujitsu. I believe that exercise is an important aid for good mental health and wellbeing for all ages and it is something that I try to encourage in school.
