A range of pubs across Belfast have announced that they will not be showing either of the Ireland men's football team's games against Israel in the coming weeks.

Nancy Mulligans on Castle Street, The Felons Club, and the Roddy's have all announced that they will not be showing the matches.

Writing on its Facebook, The Felons said: "The Felons will not be showing the Ireland game against the Zionists on Sunday. Stop the game."

The announcement comes on the back of the 'Stop the Game' campaign, which has called on the FAI and the Irish team to boycott the match due to Israel's ongoing genocide in Gaza.

Hundreds of Irish sports stars have signed an open letter from the Irish Sport for Palestine group urging players to boycott the game.

Meanwhile, RTÉ have announced that they are "stripping back" coverage of the game.

The broadcaster said that they have a "contractual broadcasting obligation" to cover the games, however, they have said that there will be no studio presentation, and that commentary will be taken from the international feed and will not be provided by an RTÉ commentator.

A minimal technical team will be deployed by RTÉ to ensure the broadcast goes ahead, but there will be no studio punditry.

RTÉ has not taken advertising or sponsorship around either game.

There will be news coverage of the games and the wider events surrounding them, the broadcaster added.
