FIVE men have been arrested and a significant quantity of suspected Class A and B drugs seized in the Greater Belfast area over the past two days.
Approximately 14kg of suspected cocaine with an estimated street value of £1,120,000 and a quantity of suspected herbal cannabis, worth approximately £15,000 were seized.
Five men, aged 26, 27, 33, 34 and 59 were arrested on suspicion of a number of offences including possession of Class A and B controlled drugs with intent to supply.
All remain in custody at this time.
Detective Inspector Miskelly said: “Families across Belfast do not want to see the lives of their young people and loved ones blighted by drugs. We know that drugs bring harm and control into communities, and only benefit those lining their pockets at the expense of others and the wider community.
“Anyone tempted to become involved in illegal drugs should be under no illusion; we will seek to identify them, arrest them and place them before the courts. I would also like to take this opportunity to appeal to anyone with any information about suspected drug dealing in their area to call the non-emergency number 101.”
