CLIFTONVILLE playing fields, also known as 'The Cricky', will play host to a brand-new GAA funded event called 'Have a Go', in order to promote hurling and camogie in non-traditional hurling areas across Belfast.
Sunday August 16th will be the designated day and the event is scheduled to take place as a part two from 3pm-5pm, with an earlier session taking place in Crumlin Leisure Centre from 12pm-2pm.
The idea behind the event is to try and inspire young people from eight to ten in the community to 'have a go' and try their hand at the small ball sports within their own backyard.
The event comes at the perfect time after Ardoyne Kickhams recently clinched the first hurling silverware for a number of years following their success and being crowned All County Hurling League Division Four champions.
Sunday's event will hope to not only bring some much-needed interest to the small ball games of the GAA, but act as another community venture to promote Ireland's national sport with stars from the Antrim Camogie All-Ireland winning team set to make an appearance, with Antrim star Gerard Walsh is also named as a special guest for the events in North Belfast.

Cliftonville Playing Fields - 3pm-5pm
