One local punter had cause for celebration  last Thursday when he took Ladbrokes for close to £24,000 with a £10 each-way accumulator in his horse racing bet.

The Shaws Road punter placed the £20 bet on Thursday night and realistically was looking six placers on the day but couldn’t believe what happened next.

It all started in the 3.25 at Salisbury when Loving Things 5/2 absolutely hacked up and then two hours later Patsio 5/2 won pulling a cart in the 5.30 at Tipperary to make it two from two easy winners.

He had just time to gather his breathe when  The Organist  absolutely hacked up in the 5.45 at Perth at 7/4 to make it three from three.

He had another anxious wait before his fourth selection was off and Cygnet won again, eased down at 4/1 in the 6.15 race and 10 minutes later Reasonat 5/1 made it five easy winners when strolling home in the 6.25 at Newmarket - the sweat was well and truly on.

All eyes were now on the 7.15 at Fontwell and our punter was sweating buckets and it started well when the 4/6 jolly slipped up and was out of the race and his selection, second favourite Can Mestret 9/4 took full advantage to skate home to bank our shell-shocked punter a total  £23,853.74 from his £20 bet - amazing stuff.

Even more amazing that all off his horses won on the bridle as well, which makes the bet even more amazing.
