RESIDENTS in the New Lodge have been praised for alerting neighbours following a house fire on Monday.
The blaze broke out at a property in Carlisle Parade.
Emergency services were alerted to the fire at 4.44pm, and firefighters rushed to the scene with four fire appliances and one aerial appliance.

The cause of the blaze is not yet known.
Local councillor JJ Magee said: "Some residents had a very lucky escape. The fire service were quickly on the scene and brought the fire under control.
"I would like to commend the bravery of neighbours who alerted people unaware of the fire and helped them from their houses."
