Best advice you could give someone thinking of a teaching career: With every job you have good days and bad days and ultimately you have a unique opportunity to have a significant impact in the lives of many. Whilst the journey is very challenging and you have to overcome a lot of obstacles on the way, the satisfaction that you experience playing a role in the development of the future generation is so worthwhile and rewarding.
I studied at St. Mary's University College and I have always had a passion for working with children since my first job as a youth worker. Outside of work, I have a keen interest in Gaelic football and have captained my local club Patrick Sarsfield's for the past couple of years. I also coach a couple of the younger teams at the club and think it is amazing how the sport has evolved, and young girls now have the same opportunities as boys, which I never experienced as a young player.
