What was your first job? Leisure Assistant with Castlereagh Borough Council.

What did your first job teach you? The importance of working with others and building strong teams.

Family/Status: Mother of two amazing girls.

Best advice you would give to someone thinking of a teaching career: Enter a career in teaching because you care about supporting others, because you want to make a difference in your working day and because you want to do something that matters. 

 

Chantal has been a passionate post-primary teacher since 2007, firstly working in the teaching of Home Economics before moving into broader curriculum delivery through Health and Social Care and Child Development. In her current role she is a Head of Department, acts as the Teacher Tutor and Primary School Liaison Officer for her school and is acting for this year as Senior Teacher for Attendance. She also carries out additional roles with CCEA as the Chief Examiner for GCSE Food and Nutrition and Principal Moderator for GCSE Health and Social Care. During her time teaching in Northern Ireland she has worked exclusively in the Integrated sector, as she strongly believes our future is best served when we educate students together in an atmosphere of tolerance and inclusion.
