Best advice you could give someone thinking of a teaching career: Try and get some experience working in a school to see if this is the right career for you. Teaching is not just a job it's a vocation. You must be passionate about working with young people. Working in education can be hard at times but is very rewarding.

I am a primary 2 teacher in Bunscoil Bheann Mhadagáin. I graduated with a BA(Hons) Liberal arts degree with Irish . During my studies I had the great opportunity to study at University in Cyprus as part of the Erasmus programme. In 2017 I went on to complete my PGCE (TICO) in St Mary's University College. I have a great love and passion for the Irish language and went through Irish medium education myself. My love for the Irish language stemmed from my family. They made the decision to send myself and my siblings to a Gaelscoil and were passionate about the language. I am extremely grateful for the opportunities given to me and also the guidance I have received from the school community of Bunscoil Bheann Mhadagáin. I am passionate about teaching and I wish to instill an enthusiasm in the learning through my native tongue.
