IT has been another memorable Féile an Phobail so far and this year's festival is set to conclude with four major concerts in four days.

On Thursday, Irish language rappers Kneecap will take to the Falls Park stage for a much-anticipated ‘Uppa Falls’ charity gig will see a full line up of special guests, with all profits going to two Irish language projects Glór na Móna’s Croí na Carraige Irish language youth and community hub in West Belfast, and Seán Dolans GAA Club Irish language hub in Derry.

On Friday night, legendary Irish folk rock band The Saw Doctors will be live at the Falls Park, with support provided by Hothouse Flowers and More Power To Your Elbow.

On Saturday night, Belfast DJ Billie Gillies will headline the popular Féile Dance Night.

This year's concerts at the Falls Park concludes on Sunday with the world's biggest ever rebel concert 'Let The People Sing' featuring Derek Warfield and The Young Wolfe Tones, Gary Óg, Shebeen, Shea Doolin, The Irish Brigade, The Hot Whiskeys and Matt O'Reilly.

Here are some of the other key events over the final few days:

Thursday, August 6

  • 11am-7pm - Palestine Day (St Mary's University College) - featuring a talk from Romana Rubeo (managing editor of the Palestine Chronicle), Hands Up Project Poetry from children in Gaza with live link up for Q&A, Palestinian lunch, Wieland Hoban (founding member of Global and European Jews for Palestine) and book launch of 'Before the Flood', a Gaza family memoir by Ramzy Baroud.
  • 3.30pm - Scribes At The West (West Club) - featuring Leslie Wilson, Séamas O’Reilly, Wendy Erskine and Anna Carey.
  • 5.30pm- Annual James Connolly Lecture (St Mary's University College) - given by Eddie Dempsey, General Secretary of the National Union of Rail, Maritime and Transport Workers (RMT).

8pm - Aoife Scott Live in Concert (St Comgalls) - Aoife Scott is one of the most compelling voices in contemporary Irish folk. Hailing from Dublin and born into the legendary Black Family, she carries a rich musical heritage. As the city comes alive for Fleadh Cheoil, this concert promises to be a special night of music and storytelling.

Friday, August 7

  • 10am-1pm - Prisoners Day' (Felons Club) - The annual Coiste Prisoners’ Day returns with a focus on the 50th anniversary of the ending of political status and the beginning of the prison protests. The event will explore the political, social and historical impact of the British Government’s decision to withdraw political status and a series of panel discussions with former prisoners.
  • 12pm - Le Chéile: Next Steps To Irish Unity (St Mary's University College) - Join New Ireland Commission Chairperson Colum Eastwood MP in discussion with leading figures from successful referendum campaigns, about the work to secure, and win a referendum for a New Ireland.
  • 7pm - Windborne – Live in Concert (St Comgalls) - described as “the most exciting vocal group in a generation”. The band met through New England’s vibrant folk music community and have toured across the United States, Australia and Europe, performing at major folk and world music festivals, concert halls and cultural venues, combining protest songs with contemporary struggles.

Saturday, August 8

  • 9am - Féile an Phobail Poc Fada (Divis Mountain Coffee Barn) - The famous Féile an Phobail Poc Fada will make a return to the wonderful setting of the Divis and Black Mountain. The Poc Fada is a very proud tradition for the GAA where Hurlers and Camogs have the opportunity to demonstrate their skills and determination as they battle against the elements and the mountainous conditions to keep their balance and co-ordination as they strike a sliothar over a lengthy course in the fewest strikes possible.
  • 10am - Lúnasa Big Walk (Meeting Point: Belfast Castle) - Celebrate Lúnasa in the Belfast Hills with a scenic walk through nature as we connect with community and embrace the spirit of the season amidst some of Belfast’s most stunning landscapes. Experience the beauty of the hills and the magic of Lúnasa together on this uplifting journey for all.
  • 10am - Mountains to Meadows Walk (Meeting Point: St Galls GAC, Milltown Row) - The Meadows to Mountains walk will feature key environmental areas in West Belfast including the Bog Meadows, Falls Park, through to the Belfast Hills. 
  • 11am - UNISON Walk for Palestine (Meeting Point: Black Mountain Car-Park -  Unison RVH/Muckamore Branch’s Annual Walk for Palestine across the Belfast Hills will raise funds for projects carried out at The Lajee Centre in the Aida refugee camp in the occupied West Bank. 
  • 11am - 2pm - Upper Springfield Colour Run and Fun Day (Whiterock Leisure Centre) -The event will include family activities and the return of the famous Falls Park Colour which takes place at 1pm.
  • 1pm - Siobhan O’Hanlon Gaelic for Mothers and Others Blitz (St Galls GAC) - The Naomh Gall Siobhan O’Hanlon Gaelic for Mothers and Others blitz returns to De La Salle Park, Milltown. The blitz is named in honour of one of Féile an Phobail’s founding members, dedicated community activist and member of Naomh Gall, Siobhan O’Hanlon. This event is known for being a fun day of sport for the G4MO teams and spectators alike. 
  • 8pm - 4 Days in Derry (St Comgalls) - first-ever Belfast performance of Bernadette McFarland’s play 4 Days in Derry: A Woman’s Story. This powerful drama tells the story of Bloody Sunday, through the eyes of the mothers, wives, sisters and daughters of the innocent men shot dead by the British army.

Sunday, August 9

  • 10am-1pm- Irish Language Craft and Culture Market (Conway Mill) - Margadh na Gaeilge, a vibrant celebration of Irish language, creativity and culture in the heart of the city. Visitors and locals alike will have the chance to experience the richness and diversity of Irish language businesses and discover some of the exciting talent flourishing across the country.
  • 4.30pm - Annual Caoimhín Holland and Pat O’Hare Award (Roddy McCorley Heritage Centre) - The annual Caoimhín Holland and Pat O’Hare award recognises Gaels who have worked relentlessly to promote the Irish language in the city.
  • 8pm - Stockton's Wing Live in Concert (St Comgalls) - Stockton’s Wing return to the stage with the launch of their brand new live album Hometown, a celebration of a band whose journey has carried Irish music from the heart of Ennis to stages across the world. Expect a night of Irish music in St Comgall’s – Ionad Eileen Howell at its most powerful, energetic, joyful and enduring.
