Barn United             3

Carnmoney Colts             1

The match had barely started and Carnmoney found themselves two goals down, and struggling, due to the windy conditions.

After the shock of the two very quick goals by the opposition, Carnmoney slowly worked themselves back into the game and had numerous chances to pull a couple of goals back through Carruthers, McKeown and McCoubrey.

McGuinness also came very close to capitalising on the pressure, when he saw a header go narrowly wide from a corner. The Colts were causing Barn all sorts of trouble all over the pitch with Knox and Press winning the midfield battles, but even after numerous corners and free-kicks they still went in at half time 2-0 down.

The second half saw McFarlane replace Beattie in the Carnmoney goal and Burns moved over to the right to replace Bainbridge, enabling Logan to slot into left back.

Carnmoney again threw everything at Barn but their keeper was in great form and again dealt with any danger coming from even more free-kicks and corners.

The sucker punch for Carnmoney came when a high ball over Totten and Goodyear found a Barn striker who fired home to make it 3-0.

There was no way back from this for Carnmoney but they did get a late consolation goal when Carruthers blasted home from ten yards.
