A North Belfast charity that offers help and support to cancer sufferers and their families is holding a one week sale to say thank you to everyone who has donated in the past year.
Cancer Lifeline was set up in 1999 by a group of local women who wanted better local support for cancer sufferers and their families.
A year ago this week the charity opened a charity shop on the Antrim Road to raise much needed funds.
“We have had tremendous support through the donations we have received and without those donations we wouldn’t have been able to survive – they are the lifeblood of the shop,” said Colm McNicholl, the shop’s acting manager.
“The success of the shop has exceeded all our expectations. Most families have experienced cancer in some way and those people are generous enough to give what they have. Every penny generated goes back into Cancer Lifeline.
“This Wednesday (September 7) the shop is holding a sale to say thank you to the many people who have supported us in the past year and we hope to continue the sale for the following week.”
