BELFAST Media has teamed up with Specsavers Park Centre to mark the start of this year’s Belfast Book Festival.
We are giving readers a chance to win a pair of tickets to a Belfast Book Festival event plus a selection of books from No Alibis, the iconic independent bookstore located on Botanic Avenue.
The 15th edition of Belfast Book Festival runs from June 5-12 in the Crescent Arts Centre in South Belfast.
Matthew McKenny, Ophthalmic Director at Specsavers Park Centre, says: “As a locally owned and run business, Specsavers Park Centre is passionate about supporting other local businesses like No Alibis.
"As Belfast Book Festival launches this week, we’re proud to collaborate with them to encourage reading and literacy in our local community. Belfast Book Festival is a fantastic celebration of stories and ideas, and we’re excited to offer this giveaway to give two lucky winners the chance to attend.”
The staff at Specsavers Park Centre are also encouraging avid readers in the local community visiting the festival to come and see them to ensure that their passion for reading isn’t hampered by eyesight concerns.
“Uncorrected vision problems like eye strain, headaches, or blurred vision can make reading uncomfortable and even discourage you from enjoying books. Regular eye tests ensure your vision is clear and your eyes stay healthy, so you can fully immerse yourself in every story,” Matthew continues.
Belfast Book Festival, hosted by the Crescent Arts Centre, is Northern Ireland’s leading annual celebration of books and ideas. The festival features a vibrant programme of readings, workshops, and performances, drawing authors and audiences from across the country and beyond.
This giveaway reinforces Specsavers Park Centre’s dedication to not only eye health but to their local community in Belfast. The store has long been committed to supporting the local West Belfast community through initiatives like free eye health checks and charitable activities. Most recently, the store donated a number of essential items to the Royal Belfast Hospital for Sick Children.
